BHB provided MEP engineering services to the $8 million, 25,753 SF addition to Pathway Church in Burleson. The addition included a 1,000 seat worship center, expanded concourse, a new reception desk, two exterior trellises, high quality AV and lighting systems, and a soundproof video streaming room.
The versatility of this new addition allows it to be used for a multitude of occasions including worship, dinner theaters, and concerts.
Some unique features of the project were LED video walls, a center motorized video wall, fixed side video walls, and environmental protection.
The electrical design included the setup of DMX controlled light fixtures to allow for dimming to 1%. These light fixtures also had to match the existing adjacent space.
A cost-saving measure was implementing single-zone VAV rooftop units for the concourse, sanctuary, and stage areas. Due to the limited roof space, our team used roof-mounted ductwork to condition the sanctuary.
VRF systems were also added in the mechanical room, electrical room, and adjacent offices/support spaces as another cost-saving measure.
This new addition opened up to the public in late 2021, followed by a 50th-anniversary dedication ceremony in November 2021. The church dedicated the new addition to the original six families that founded the Burleson branch of the church.
BHB was delighted to be invited to the 50th-anniversary dedication ceremony. Our team has been a part of several renovations for the church, so it was great to celebrate such a significant milestone for Pathway Burleson.

Allen Grammer, PE, NSSA AP
Allen Grammer, PE, NSSA AP
Associate | Mechanical Engineer
Growing up with a construction engineer father, Allen was always fascinated by the giant machines; as he grew up, the technical and problem-solving aspects of the industry drew him to his career as a mechanical engineer. He’ll tell you that it is just as much fun as he imagined it would be. Allen found BHB during his senior year at TCU, when a classmate and then-intern at the company encouraged him to apply. His work experience also includes a summer internship with the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Washington, DC, and he is currently active in the leadership team of the Fort Worth Chapter of ASHRAE.
Not a lot of people know that Allen plays the violin – a little bit of everything, from Mozart to Charlie Daniels. He also enjoys all things tech (such as playing games on the computer), traveling to Disney world, and spending time with his wife Kacy and their small cat family.
