Baird, Hampton & Brown provided full civil, MEP, and land surveying services for the City of Fort Worth’s new $5.5 million clubhouse at Rockwood Golf Course. Built in 1938, the original clubhouse has been reconstructed with a 15,000 SF design that maintains access to the golf course and Ben Hogan Learning Center.
The project was completed in phases with the first focused on setting a temporary clubhouse and access routes for visitors. The second phase included demolition of the original facility and construction.
To accommodate both electric and gas-powered golf carts, charging stations were installed in the golf storage area and a ventilation system was designed to alleviate exhaust fumes and chemicals. In addition, the HVAC system was placed in the storage space to help ensure proper ventilation of the heat pumps. The entire lighting system is LED and the clubhouse is equipped with upgraded lighting controls.
The project was completed on time and under budget, providing the City of Fort Worth with a new clubhouse for local golfers and residents to enjoy for years to come.

Gibran Michel, DBIA, LEED AP
Associate | Senior Mechanical Designer
Gibran Michel began his career at BHB in 1996 as an AutoCad drafter, back when AutoCAD was accessed through DOS. Since his time at BHB, he has moved up within the company, creating contacts, clients, and friends inside and outside the industry. Gibran is a member of the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce and is also DBIA certified and a LEED Accredited Professional.
When he’s not working, Gibran likes to spend time with his wife, Molley, and kids: Isabella, Will, and Hayden. He enjoys hunting when he can, and he can be found working out at CrossFit Aledo four or more times a week. His favorite place to vacation is the Caribbean.
At home, Gibran does a majority of the handiwork himself, anywhere from building a 200-foot-long railroad tie retaining wall to fixing the plumbing on a sink. He associates his ability to do these things with his understanding of the collaboration between design and construction.

Dave Horsburgh
Associate | Senior Survey Technician
Dave hasn’t always called Texas home; he grew up in Florida where he had dreams of becoming a professional surfer. At one point he was ranked third in the state in his division, and even had several sponsors. Now with the company for over 20 years, Dave serves as an Associate and Senior Survey Technician/Survey Field Coordinator, and is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors. He has played an integral role in the land surveying department’s adoption of new technologies such as the innovative 3D laser scanner.

He is an ordained minister and enjoys being active in his church, serving his community, and spending time with friends and family. He has traveled extensively, including part of a summer in Romania to work in an orphanage. He has also spent time in Mali, Africa to do land surveying work with the International Mission Board, where he reached out to unknown tribes, built relationships, and mapped the villages and routes to them.
