Baird, Hampton & Brown provided MEP design services to Tarrant County College District for the renovation of their Riverside Drive offices. An existing warehouse was repurposed into office space, off site storage, and a woodshop for the TCCD planning department. With the completion of this project, the department is now housed under one roof, and their old space is being utilized by the high school program.
BHB’s scope of work included a field investigation of the existing electrical distribution system, the design of lighting with new LED fixtures and controls compliant with the newest energy code, coordination of power and control requirements for the fixtures, the design of the electrical distribution system for the entire building, and the replacement of an existing generator. Most notably, the BHB team was required to field verify the light levels to ensure that the system was designed to hit its target values. This ensured that each space was provided with the ideal levels of light for its purpose, whether it be an office, workshop, or storage space.

Mechanical services for the project included the evaluation of the existing mechanical systems for viability of re-use, and the design of mechanical systems for the renovated office area. This included coordination with a unique suspended ceiling system, a renovated warehouse area, and a new carpentry shop with a dust collection system and paint booth exhaust.

Craig Gregory, PE
Vice President of Facilities Engineering
Growing up, Craig Gregory knew he wanted to become an engineer. Even as a kid, he was always interested in math and how things worked. Naturally, this led him to studying engineering and graduating from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Craig joined the industry soon after graduating from college in 1987. A few years later, he joined Merlin Hampton, who had previously hired him at another company, at BHB and he has been with us ever since.
Craig has experience as the lead electrical engineer in a wide variety of projects ranging from sophisticated electrical distribution designs to large data centers and complex renovation projects in hospitals and industrial facilities such as Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Outside of work, Craig enjoys spending time with his wife Laura and his two daughters Autumn and Allie. Their favorite place to vacation is Disney World.
