Peter Caravano, PE
Associate | Civil Engineer
Growing up, Peter was always interested in science and technology which led him to become heavily involved with FIRST Robotics throughout high school and into college. Through the robotics program, Peter was able to meet professionals in various engineering disciplines and was given an opportunity to intern at a local civil engineering firm. That internship convinced him that civil engineering was the career path he wanted to follow.
Peter started attending college at Rutgers University in New Jersey before ultimately transferring to The University of Texas at Arlington after his family moved to Texas in 2013. Peter graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While at UTA, he was involved with the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a chapter officer in both Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies.
Since starting at Baird, Hampton & Brown in 2018 as a graduate engineer Peter has progressed in his career by becoming a licensed professional engineer and project manager. Working on a wide variety of public and private projects, his experience includes commercial land development, hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, water/wastewater design, and grading/roadway design. Peter is an active member in the Fort Worth branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Mid-Cities chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
Outside of work and in his free time, Peter keeps busy volunteering with church, spending time with his wife and two dogs, as well as caring for his 125-gallon freshwater fish tank. Peter also maintains a General class amateur radio license and can often be found operating on the HF digital modes or monitoring the local VHF repeater from his home radio shack in the evenings or during bad weather.
