Peter D. McKone, CWB
Associate | Environmental Services
Peter McKone joined BHB with over 35 years of experience in environmental services. His journey to the field was rooted in a childhood spent outdoors—exploring creeks, woods, and undeveloped land that sparked a lifelong passion for nature. That early connection to the environment led him to pursue both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University, laying the foundation for a career centered around protecting natural resources.
Since joining BHB, he’s brought a thoughtful and grounded perspective to the Environmental Services team. His love for wildlife and the outdoors hasn’t just shaped his career—it’s become a central part of his life. Outside of the office, Peter volunteers at a local nature center, teaches environmental courses at TCU, and enjoys working outside, staying active, and following sports.
Though his work is serious, Peter brings a lighthearted energy to the team—once recalling one of his craziest jobs involving catfish in Arkansas. He’s always been fascinated by the wilderness and even dreamed of being a mountain man when he was growing up.
Peter is married to his best friend and is a proud father to two children. He finds joy in traveling to places that feed his sense of adventure and connection to nature, especially Rocky Mountain National Park and Hawaii—two places that hold special memories with his family.
