Most parents have lots of responsibilities, juggling work and time with their families, not to mention the hassle of finding childcare. When a workplace offers benefits for the working parent that allows them to have more balance in their life, that is extremely important. In fact, that is why most working parents leave jobs, because they need better schedules and benefits to allow them to take care of their families.
Here at BHB, we take this into account when setting our standards and benefits package. For our 2022 benefits package, our parental leave policies have expanded and changed and to now include maternity, paternal, and adoption leaves.
On top of this newly added benefit, BHB already has excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance plans available for the whole family! Along with these new updates, BHB is happy to announce that it is our third consecutive year to be named “Best Place For Working Parents.”
“Being able to support our employees in one of the biggest moments of their lives plays a big key in BHB’s family culture,” said HR Generalist, Megan Halpenny. BHB currently has six employees that are due by this spring and early summer, so having this new benefit will be incredibly helpful for them and their families.
The firm has always been open and welcoming to spouses and children at various company events. The Thanksgiving luncheon is one of those events, where employees can invite spouses and children to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with us. Other events include Texas Ranger games and zoo trips! BHB exemplifies a family-friendly environment not only for events, but in day-to-day operations. In fact, most employees would agree that they think of their coworkers as family.
Civil engineer, Wyatt Young, EIT said “I love the people and family-like atmosphere of BHB the most. I chose BHB because it is a successful company that truly cares about their employees.”
New employee and civil engineer, Jared Bowen, EIT said that he loves the culture at BHB and likes that it is family-oriented. He compared BHB to one of his past jobs where he worked for a larger firm. He said it wasn’t the same feeling that a smaller firm like BHB has to offer. He goes on to say that “it makes a big difference, to be in a workplace where there is a great work culture and family atmosphere.”
BHB is proud to be a place where employees feel like they are part of a family, and we hope to keep fostering an excellent work culture and family-friendly environment as we expand our team and benefits.
