Meet Merlin Hampton

Merlin Hampton, an electrical engineer, is one of BHB’s three founders.

Introducing Our New San Antonio Office

Since 1992, BHB has provided services of land surveying, engineering, and landscape architecture with offices in Grapevine, Fort Worth, Weatherford, and now San Antonio. We’ve had a presence in central Texas for over 25 years and are excited to continue that with the addition of our new office location. The addition of the new office is set in place to better serve the central Texas clients and be closer to them in proximity to be more physically present.

The San Antonio office will be lead by Associate and Electrical Engineer Thomas Wilson, who graduated from Texas State University with his bachelor’s in Manufacturing Engineering. He has 10 years of industry experience, six of which have been at BHB. During his time with BHB, he has worked on several projects and most have been in the central Texas area. He began traveling to central Texas in 2017 for projects and with this established presence and network, it only made sense for him to lead the new office.

“We certainly hope to bring value to new clients in San Antonio, as well as maintain our services to existing clients that have projects in the area and to be a valuable resource to them. We have existing clients with projects in central Texas, so this will allow us to better serve them from a more centrally located office,” said Wilson.

Some of the projects BHB has worked on in central Texas are the TxDOT Transguide Facility, Ryder Trucking facilities, Eyemarts, and Starbucks locations. Since 1995, BHB has maintained their presence in central Texas and they hope to enhance that with the help of the new office.

Wilson’s goal for leading the office is not only to better serve the needs of current and future clients, but to uphold BHB’s highest principles and ethical practices. He hopes that in doing this, it will facilitate a healthy work environment for his colleagues.

“I will continue to maintain the high ethical practices that we provide, while keeping it personable. One of my favorite things is listening to my coworkers and colleagues and not just how they develop professionally, but outside of work as well,” Wilson said.

Thomas is admired by many at BHB including Chief Operations Officer and Senior Electrical Engineer Ken Randall, and President and Senior Civil Engineer, Konstantine Bakintas. Both leaders are excited for the growth opportunities for the firm and to have such an excellent engineer leading the new office.

“Opening our San Antonio office not only allowed BHB to expand to another geographic area of Texas, but most importantly allowed Thomas Wilson to continue growing with the BHB family. We look forward to expanding the office with additional engineering disciplines in the near future,” said Randall.

“As a firm, we have always supported organic growth prompted by the professional development of our staff. When exceptional engineers are provided with training and support, then those individuals are driven to set lofty goals, and then to pursue them. We are pleased to recognize Thomas Wilson’s drive and passion for engineering, and desire to serve a new geographic area of Texas in San Antonio,” said Bakintas.

It is evident that Thomas’ colleagues have no doubt he will be an exceptional leader for the new San Antonio office and will help better serve the needs of BHB’s central Texas clients. His expertise and dedication to his work will only help the success of the new office and allow BHB to grow even more throughout central Texas.
